IVF AND EMBRYO TRANSFER SERVICES

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is the process of creating embryos from oocytes (unfertilized egg cells) by fertilizing them with semen. Oocytes are first collected from the ovaries of selected donors. They are then matured in a Petri dish and fertilized 20-24 hours later. Conventional, sexed frozen, or reverse-sorted semen may be used for fertilization. Oocytes then develop in an incubator for seven days, at which point the resulting viable embryos are transferred into recipients. We offer 100% guaranteed pregnancies failing which we will return the cost paid by the farmer.

Embryo Transfer (ET) is an advanced reproductive technology and a progressive tool that can help you produce more calves from your best cows. For example, you have a cow in your farm which produces 50 litres of the best quality of milk (rich in fat, protein and SNF) against your farm average of 15 litres. In this case, we will select this cow and collect her Oocytes by a process called aspiration and then use the semen of the best proven bulls and produce embryos. These embryos are then transferred to any of the cows in your farm which will act as a surrogate mother (recipient cows). This method ensures that the quality of your herd will improve exponentially and in a few years’ time, you will have hundreds of elite cows in your farm producing more than 50 litres of milk each with improved quality. Depending on the donor cows, we can prepare about 40 to 50 elite calves per year, per cow.
